April 12, 2024, Front Range Fire Rescue (FRFR) recognized several members for their accomplishments in 2023.

Our annual Firefighter of the Year Award was given to two members this year. Firefighter Cory Gore-Salazar and Lieutenant Chris Linder. This tribute acknowledges the individuals who embody the core values of FRFR daily, as recognized by our entire membership.

Firefighter Gore-Salazar demonstrates forward-thinking and continuous self-improvement, earning him respect and a leadership role among his colleagues.

Lieutenant Linder shines as an energetic leader and mentor within the District. His dedication was further evidenced by his time as acting Battalion Chief for several months in 2023. We appreciate his eagerness to help our organization.

Our annual Chief's Award was given to Engineer Connor Covillo. This award recognizes a member who humbly helps wherever it is needed—someone who serves the public and the organization without fail. Connor is someone whose fingerprints touch all aspects of FRFR, and he quietly leads many of our projects.

Apart from our yearly recognitions, we also presented a twenty-year service award to Lieutenant Eric Werness, who began serving with the Johnstown Fire Protection District in 2004.
