Meet Timber, a new therapy dog joining Oliver. October 1st is National Fire Pup Day, set aside to honor canine members of America's fire departments. Timber enjoys serving as a therapy dog for FRFR, providing love, comfort, and support to all personnel.

Richie Van Tine was sworn in last night as our newest engineer. Richie joined FRFR in 2018. FRFR tests promotional candidates in a rigorous assessment center process involving various real-world factors related to the position. Congratulations, Engineer Van Tine!

Welcome to our four new lateral firefighters: Jay Birnie, Patrick Foxx, Michael Mavaddat and Tyler Netik! We're so happy to have them as part of our family and know they will provide excellent service to our community.

This month, Firefighter Lyndsey Glotfelty completed her probationary period at FRFR. Glotfelty completed the Fire Academy in December of 2021. Since then, she has completed a comprehensive task book and obtained additional certifications.

Front Range Fire Station 2 is a complex of buildings that dates back to 1910. During the pandemic, we completed a significant renovation project.

Be sure to watch the progress of the Station 1 remodel. The project has limited site revisions, but a total remodel to both floors and a big change to the exterior by adding a new training tower on the south east corner.

This week, Battalion Chief John Davis began his duties as FRFR’s Emergency Manager. Chief Davis will develop and maintain our comprehensive emergency plan in coordination with the Towns of Johnstown and Milliken in his new role.

National Wildland Firefighter Day takes place during the Week of Remembrance that is held annually from June 30 to July 6, which serves as a moment for the entire Nation to reinforce our commitment to wildland firefighter safety, as we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. FRFR joined our neighboring agencies, Fredrick Firestone Fire District and Berthoud Fire Protection last week to deploy a team of firefighters to assist with the California wildfires.
