2019 Award Winners

Saturday, December 7th, we held our annual awards banquet to honor the sworn and civilian members of Front Range Fire Rescue for going above and beyond the call of duty to keep our community safe and to recognize the outstanding work of our members.

Congratulations Firefighter Bishop Dickerson

Front Range Fire Rescue (FRFR) swore in its newest full-time member Wednesday night, at the FRFR Board meeting. Bishop Dickerson will join the department after serving the last 15 months as a reserve firefighter. Chief Michael West conducted the oath and other department staff welcomed Dickerson by assisting in the ceremony.

West said, "Bishop has demonstrated our values of compassion, courage, and professionalism. I appreciate his drive, and I am confident that he will be an excellent addition to our department."

Thank you to the Johnstown/ Milliken Community members and guest that donated to MDA “Fill the Boot” this past weekend! Because of your generosity, we can announce the biggest collection of donation in over 5 years.

Front Range Fire Rescue collected over $8,920.00 on behalf of MDA!

Front Range Fire Chief

Welcome Fire Chief Michael West!

Chief West has been a member of the fire service for over three decades and is a fourth-generation Firefighter. He recently served as District Chief at South Metro Fire Rescue in Centennial. He holds a Master’s Degree from Seton Hall University in Strategic Communication and Leadership and also holds degrees in Management as well as Fire Science. In his spare time, Chief West is a bagpiper with the Colorado Emerald Society and enjoys travel and motorcycle riding. He looks forward to serving the Front Range Fire Rescue community.

Board Announces New Fire Chief

The Front Range Fire Rescue Board has reached an agreement with the next Fire Chief following the retirement of Chief Ron Bateman. Chief Ron Bateman has served his community for 21 years, beginning his fire service in 1998, in Bloomington, Indiana and serving the Milliken and Johnstown communities since 2009. Chief Bateman has a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University and plans to continue researching and teaching leadership following his retirement.
